Boxing videogames don't get any respect

Boxing videogames don't get the respect other sports videogames get. Many companies create boxing games in a arcadey fashion. They don't respect the "sweet science that boxing can be. Basketball,Football, Soccer, Baseball, etc; all these sports push for realism within their sports. Boxing should have the same respect and depth of other games. Boxing videogames are so limited in their overall gameplay. Boxing can be a thinking man's sport or a gifted athletes' best friend. The execution of many things done in past boxing videogames were not for realism but forced back and forth exchanges with disregard to capabilities, techniques, stamina, fatigue, tendencies of each boxers.

Fans are tired of producers and companies blaming the sport for a boxing game slump in sales. A good game is a good game no matter what's going on in the real world. A gamer wants to be in control of a boxer(s) in every aspect of the sport. A gamer/fan wants each boxer to function the way he would in the real boxing ring. Fans are limited and feed a what they(producers) think they need. Companies need to read the reviews of all fans and not the reviews of casual fans who don't care and love Street Fighters. A Casual fan will accept what is given to them. A fan of any sport will be upset the same way they would be upset if their favorite team played horribly.

I think a gaming company should do their homework on projects dealing with a sport instead of making the sport work with ideas they feel the sport should be. A boxing game can be fun if it's presented like the real sport. There are boxers fans like and some they hate, it would be pure satisfaction to beat another boxer with the tools you have against the tools of your opponent.

The other thing that hurts boxing games is that the real life athletes and people within the sport don't support the games. Many of the athletes in the games grab a check and don't give true consultation. A boxing game needs true boxing historians of the sport. It needs boxers who care about how they and other boxers are represented in game. I know these are games but fans are serious about how their sports are represented. The fun comes from the unrestricted ability to box the way you want within your abilities' strengths and weaknesses.
